• Thirst is an early warning sign of dehydration.
  • You must drink at least 8 glasses of water daily is a myth. It all depends on the foods you eat, the activity you do and the amount of time you stay outside in the sun.
  • Be careful while exercising outside during hot and humid conditions because exercise can make you dehydrated in as little as 30 minutes.
  • While exercising you should take water break after every 20 minutes.
  • During hot and humid conditions avoid coffee, alcohol and sugar-sweetened soda.
  • Check your urine to know whether you are dehydrated – if it is dark-colored or looks like  concentrated apple juice like, then it is a warning sign that you are dehydrated.
  • Drink as much water as possible while exercising as water is really good for rehydration.
